Yorkville Library Board Served 58 Years Without Sworn Oath
At the Yorkville Library Board meeting on Monday, September 11, 2023, Trustees took the required oath of office per 75 ILCS 5/4-6. September 11th marked the fist time any board has ever been sworn in since the City of Yorkville took over the library in 1965. The board served without swearing the required oath for 58 years, according to city records. The oath requires Trustees to uphold the U.S. and Illinois Constitutions.
