The City of Yorkville and School District Y115 are Considering a Partnership Involving the City’s Preschool Program

Recently, the Yorkville Parks and Recreation staff moved to the new City Hall building at 651 Prairie Point Drive. The new building will not provide the required space needed for the City’s preschool program. Previously, the preschool was located at the Parks and Recreation facility on Hydraulic Street. The City of Yorkville and School District Y115 are considering a partnership between the City’s preschool program and the High School’s existing Educator Pathways program. The City would renovate a portion of the existing sports auxiliary building for the preschool and manage the day-to-day operations. The City is estimating the renovation cost at $66,237. Y115 would maintain the property. The High School’s Family and Consumer Science students would have access to the preschool to observe and assist. The preschool would have access to the Yorkville Grade School playground. The new facility would also be near Beecher Park and the Library.
