An Open Letter to the Sandwich Public Library Board

This letter was sent to the Sandwich Public Library Board on April 10, 2025. When no response was received, it was published as an open letter on April 15, 2025.

Sandwich Public Library Trustees,

As you may be aware, Sandwich Library has partnered with the local shop, Natural Collective, to offer classes on meditation, ancestral consultation, and numerology. These are the program announcements from the Library’s website:

As you may or may not be aware, Natural Collective has recently offered the following classes:

The existence of the partnership between the gods of Natural Collective and the taxpayer-funded Sandwich Library serves as evidence that the Trustees have rejected several of the people's written, historical decrees that regulate operations within our public facilities.

The partnership between the gods of Natural Collective and the taxpayer-funded Sandwich Library directly contradicts the Illinois Constitution, which recognizes that Illinois was formed in gratitude to Almighty God, to operate in a way that secures his blessings to provide for the safety and welfare of the people. Please follow this link to the Preamble to the Illinois Constitution.

The partnership between the gods of Natural Collective and the taxpayer-funded Sandwich Library contradicts our Pledge of Allegiance, which attests to America’s status as “ONE NATION UNDER GOD,” and our National Motto, which affirms “IN GOD WE TRUST”. Both of these confessions were reaffirmed and codified by our 107th Congress in November of 2002. Please follow this link to Public Law 107-293.

Sandwich Library Trustees are to ensure the facility operates in a way that honors America’s God, the One God of the Bible. Please follow this link to Public Law 97-280 for substantiation of our nation’s commitment to the biblical scriptures upon which America was founded and currently functions.

America’s God is loving and jealous. He desires to bless, but he will not continue to bless a region that partners with darkness to disciple its people in the pagan rituals of ancestral consultation, meditation, and numerology.

The people have granted the Library Trustees authority to oversee the selection of programs for the people. However, the Library’s stated goal of “stimulating curiosity and enhancing knowledge” must be accomplished by the Trustees and the employees they oversee by staying within the confines of the documented principles the Trustees have sworn to uphold. While it is important to consider the needs and desires of the community during the program selection process, their desires shall not be indulged to an extent that violates our founding documents or erodes the strength and security of the region.

Even if you choose to overlook the biblical, Christ-centered founding and functioning of America and our clear allegiance to the God of the Bible within our history, traditions, and founding, erroneously claiming that “separation of church and state” mandates secular governance, your actions are, by your own logic, condemned. This partnership, which facilitates communion with gods inside the walls of the Sandwich Public Library, remains unsanctioned.

Neither taxpayer’s funds nor taxpayer-funded spaces shall be utilized to disciple the people of Sandwich in the ways of lesser gods.

Sincerely,

We the People
